How to create an XML sitemap that can be submitted to Google, Bing,
Yahoo and other search engines to help them crawl your website better for free.

To find a sitemap generator go to following webpage http://www.xml-sitemaps.com

With xml-sitemap a maximum of 500 pages will be indexed in sitemap and get it done in four simple steps.

Enter your full website URL and some optional parameters in the form below.
http://www.yourdomainname.com
You can leave the rest as default. But check it out.

Press ‘Start’ button and wait until the site is completely crawled.

You will be redirected to the generated sitemap details page, including number of pages, broken links list, XML file content and link to a sitemap file. I do not have any broke links.

This is how it looks when a sitemap is in progress.

The following message will appear your sitemap is ready.

Follow the steps. There are still two steps left.
Download the sitemap file using that link “sitemap file here“and add it to the root folder of your website. http://www.yourdomainname.com/sitemap.xml

Upload your Sitemap to your website.
Go to your Google Webmaster Tools
and add your sitemap URL.

To be able to do so you must have the following a G-mail account or any another account
and Google Webmaster Tools account if not open one.
After opening Google Webmaster Tools sign in
Click on Add a site
and follow the steps

Add a website name in the box you want to manage. http://www.yourdomainname.com and click continue.

The website needed to be verified. Click on Verify this site


A new page will open.
Google want you to upload the HTML verification file google15a22377e984a32d.html to your website.
(Remember each website have its own code)

Click on Download this HTML verification file.
A small window will open.
Select Open with your web browser.
We use Firefox

A new webpage tab will open.

Click on File

Scroll down to Save file as

A new window will open Save in.
In the File name:
the same name as the verification file code will appear.
In the Save as type:
select All files

Save the file into the root of the website.

Upload it to the website.
Confirm successful upload by visiting http://www.yourdomainname.com/google15a22377e984a32d.html

If it work.
Click on VERIFY

Now we need to add the sitemap

Go to Home and select the website you want to add a sitemap to

The website will change to Dashboard

The Dashboard will show Crawl Errors, Search Queries and Sitemaps

Click on Sitemap a new window will open

Click on ADD/TEST SITEMAP
A small window will appear.
After your domainname you need to add sitemap.xml

Submit Sitemap
